NetCarry
The NetCarry guide

How to track multiple brokerage accounts in one place

You do not need to move your investments to see them together. Build one account-level view, put balances in a common currency, and add the assets and debts your brokerages do not show.

Start with accounts, then add the rest of your net worth

List each brokerage, account, balance date, and currency. Decide whether the view is for you or your household before adding joint accounts. Count an account once even if it is visible through more than one connection or has also been added manually.

Investment totals are only part of net worth. Cash held elsewhere, property, and debt may need separate entries. When an account value already includes cash or holdings, adding those components again inflates the total.

How NetCarry brings connected accounts together

Sign in with SnapTrade and authorize NetCarry’s read access. Manage brokerage connections in the SnapTrade Dashboard, then import the available investment accounts into NetCarry. Brokerage and account availability depend on your SnapTrade connections; this is not a promise that every institution is supported.

NetCarry uses account values for the balance sheet and lets you add manual assets and liabilities. You set the expected growth assumptions. The app does not place trades or move your investments between brokerages.

  • Connect and authorize available brokerage accounts through SnapTrade.
  • Review imported accounts and their available values.
  • Add assets and debts outside those accounts.
  • Check assumptions, then explore net growth and future cash flows.

Watch for currency differences and money in transit

Do not add a USD balance directly to a CAD balance. Convert into one reporting currency and check the rate assumption. NetCarry currently uses an editable CAD-to-USD planning rate, not a live foreign-exchange feed. Other currency pairs need an available conversion rate.

Transfers can appear in both accounts, or neither, while institutions update at different times. Check source dates and statements before treating a temporary balance change as a gain or loss. A transfer between your own accounts does not itself create wealth.

Two brokerages, one balance sheet

Illustrative values already expressed in the same reporting currency.
ItemAmount
Brokerage A$120,000
Brokerage B$80,000
Cash outside the brokerages$15,000
Manual loan balance−$25,000
Net worth across these items$190,000

The combined investment balance is $200,000. The broader net worth is $190,000 after outside cash and debt.

Common questions

Do I have to transfer my accounts to use NetCarry?

No. Connecting through SnapTrade gives NetCarry authorized read access to available account data. Your investments stay with your brokerages.

Will all balances update in real time?

Do not assume they are live. Available values and history depend on upstream data and retrieval timing. NetCarry stores snapshots when values are retrieved; check dates when comparing balances.

Can I remove access?

NetCarry Settings lets you disconnect imported data or delete your local account. Manage brokerage connections and upstream access separately in the SnapTrade Dashboard. The privacy page explains the distinction.
